We held the HVAC session with fourteen men in attendance, all eager to take the next step in their careers. The session included a strong discussion about what’s required to succeed in today’s workforce, covering professionalism, skill development, and growth opportunities in the HVAC industry.
Participants began preparing their resumes as the first step in building a solid career foundation, while also getting ready to take the EPA 608 exam course. They learned about the next stage of the program, an on-the-job training cohort with a local HVAC company dedicated to workforce development.
The program was designed to continue for eight sessions through December,
with classroom, online and on the job training opportunities scheduled to begin in January 2026

The Borough of Brooklyn Center for Arts & Technology has been honored at the District 79 FACE Recognition Ceremony for their commitment to delivering invaluable skills and lessons to students of CoopTech. Since the start of our twelve-week rotation in the classroom, we have been able to educate students in the IT curriculum with lessons in financial literacy, resume-writing, Linkedin profiles in person networking, professional interactions, communications and interview preparations. These skills will be a reflection of their success when they land sustainable careers in I.T once they compete the program.
"Mr. Aaron Dean CEO, and Mrs. Carla Anderson, Educator from BobCatBrooklyn.org, play a crucial role in the success of our students participating in the Information Technology and Construction Trades programs at Coop Tech. Their soft skills programing assists our students in crossing over the bridge, overcoming obstacles to reach career goals and long-term employment opportunities. They foster motivation , leadership and invaluable resources which are essential to Coop Tech students. They are recognized for their dedication and impact and we honor them."

We held our second session at the Bronx Job Corps IT program, where students were actively participating in the CompTIA A+ certification training. During this session, we continued developing their resumes and introduced LinkedIn as a valuable tool for building their professional presence online. Students learned how to highlight their skills, connect with industry professionals, and begin shaping their digital footprint.
Our goal was to have all students complete their resumes and launch their LinkedIn pages by the next session. To further support their growth, they also received virtual visits from our trainer Darryl Starnes, our lead IT instructor, who shared valuable career insights and industry advice.

On June 28th, 2025 the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music came alive with rhythm, purpose, and community for BoBCAT’s Jammin’ for Jobs Jazz Concert. From the very first note to the final toast, the evening was a powerful celebration of opportunity, culture, and connection.
The event brought together guests, supporters, and partners who all share a vision: helping New Yorkers access living-wage careers. With soulful live jazz, heartfelt stories, and a room full of energy, Jammin’ for Jobs wasn’t just a fundraiser it was a movement. Thanks to your generosity, we raised critical funds to continue our mission of building brighter futures through training, mentorship, and community programs.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it unforgettable.

BoBCAt visited CoopTech to reconnect with recent graduates of our Soft Skills Training IT program. We were proud to hear their success storiesranging from new job offers to exciting opportunities on the horizon. Yahir advanced to a national Cisco Networking competition where he won third place, while Mohammed was preparing to take his CCNA exam in which he subsequentially passed. Amime has also passed his CCNA exam.
We invited these rising stars to join us at Jammin’ for Jobs and our 3rd Annual Golf Outing to celebrate their accomplishments and continued growth. Their journeys were just beginning, and we remain committed to supporting and cheering them on every step of the way.

Based on our work since we began operations in September 2021, we have created a recurring economic benefit for our graduates and their families exceeding $2 million per year.
