Robert Lisi has been a banker for over thirty-five years specializing in the areas of lending, marketing, portfolio restructuring, and credit risk management. He began his career with Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company in New York where he held management positions in the retail, wholesale and international divisions of the bank. During his tenure in the international division, Bob supervised a $3 billion Latin American portfolio of financial institutions, governmental and corporate clients and represented the bank in a series of sovereign debt restructurings. Upon returning to the domestic side of the bank, he was instrumental in creating a new department that developed and implemented an advanced method of credit analysis using sophisticated credit-scoring models. Subsequently, Bob became a senior officer in the New York branch of Banco de la Nación Argentina (BNA), Argentina's largest bank, with a variety of responsibilities that included business development, profitability management, and regulatory compliance. He left BNA to accept a position as Lending Group Head with Banca Nazionale del Lavoro S.p.A. (BNL), Italy's fifth largest bank, where he managed all of the bank's correspondent banking relationships in North and South America and served as the U.S. relationship manager for the investment banking/broker dealer business. Shortly before the acquisition of BNL by BNP in 2003, Bob left the bank and has been a consultant in the areas of credit risk management, compliance and marketing.
He became a Board member for Brooklyn Community Services (BCS) in 2009, and served as Chairman of the Audit Committee for over ten years. He worked on fundraising efforts for BCS, and was responsible for adding Popular Community Bank, Investor's Bank and the New York Mets as major sponsors.
Bob joined the advisory board for the Gotham Comedy Foundation (GCF) in 2015 and has assisted in organizing two successful fundraising galas. He is now involved in working with GCF's founder to improve the organization's structure. In October of 2018 Bob was appointed to the Board of Directors for Sheltering Arms, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the education, wellbeing, and development of vulnerable New Yorkers for more than 180 years. He serves on the Audit, Development, Program and Compliance Risk Management Committees and is the sole Board member on the Sheltering Arms Incident Review Committee.
Bob continues to pursue his academic interest in coaching individuals in career education and life planning at NYU, and is studying Italian at the United Nations.
Bob resides in Manhattan with his wife Terina, an investment banker. They actively support St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and several local theater groups and charities.
